Peter Tosh
1963–1987
Winston Hubert McIntosh (19 October 1944 – 11 September 1987), known professionally as **Peter Tosh**, was a Jamaican reggae musician who co-founded The Wailers alongside Bob Marley and Bunny Wailer.
His solo career produced landmark albums including *Legalize It* (1976), *Equal Rights* (1977), and *Bush Doctor* (1978). He was known for his uncompromising advocacy for cannabis legalization, Pan-Africanism, and equal rights.
Peter Tosh was tragically murdered at his Kingston home on 11 September 1987. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of The Wailers in 1994.
