Why do we need an International Reggae Day? Reggae is the soundtrack for JAMAICA and Reggae is the music the world hears when they think of JAMAICA in any area of achievement. Reggae is the world's first true global beat with the first true global superstar in Bob Marley and Reggae deserves this recognition. Global culture has embraced Jamaican creativity, particularly Reggae and IRD invites the world to an annual party hosted by Jamaican media as a reminder of the power, impact and origin of this global phenomenon.
Support Jamaica's creative industries, celebrate the global Reggae movement and big up International Reggae Day!
