The multi-hyphenate star has added yet another venture to his ever growing entrepreneur portfolio. As a healthy lifestyle advocate, Ziggy Marley is fanning the flames of his father's ideals while creating his own path along the way.

Dubbed Ziggy Marley Organics and launched in September 2012, the line of coconut oils and hemp seeds boasts itself as the first of its kind with unique flavour combinations.

"It's coconut -- (from) organic coconut kernels. It's the world's first flavored coconut cooking oil," shared Marley with LA.com. "We have hemp seeds, which is another world's first because we roasted them. It's roasted hemp seeds in the shell. It's not out of the shell, so it's in the shell. And those are also flavored. Again it's non-GMO (genetically modified organism)," he continued.

Considered a 'super food', hemp seeds are a good source of protein and have the recommended omega-3 and -6 fatty acid ratio.

Not only are the products pleasing to the taste buds, they are also seriously healthful. "Anything you can do with coconut, you can do with this. If you want to put on your skin its fine – cooking, anything you want to do. The hemp seeds are roasted. They don't have THC in them. They can't make you high, but they will make you feel good," Ziggy says. "One of my favourites is called Caribbean Crunch. It's very nice, and it's very crunchy – and it's good for you. Everything good, you know?"

"I grew up with coconuts as the main flavor in food in Jamaica. It's part of our culture," he cites to Roberta Cruger of the Mother Nature Network about his organic non-GMO oil in curry and lemon-ginger flavors.

While aware of its nutritional benefits, the issue of genetically modified food motivated Ziggy to do a PSA for the Just Label It campaign. He points to the high rate of allergies, asthma and obesity in children as a result of what we eat, explaining:

"The long-term study of GMO foods is going on in real time and in real life. Not in a lab. To affect the food chain of our society is one of the most influential things you can do. And it's allowed without much scrutiny. I'm worried about that. Food should be natural. When we add pollutants to the air, it makes us sick. It's the same with water. But money speaks. Money bring power. Money brings silence, ya know. We have to take a stance as people."

The coconut oil comes in four flavours; Curry, Lemon Ginger, Orange Almond and its original taste; all referred to as Coco'Mon while the hemp seeds come packaged as Hemp Rules with the options of Roasted Caribbean Crunch, Roasted Sea Salt and Pepper and Shelled.
