Reggae Sumfest organizers celebrate 21st staging with thrilling lineup.

Organizers, sponsors, performers and associates of Reggae Sumfest gathered at Macau Gaming Lounge and Bar on July 2nd for the Kingston launch of the highly anticipated three day festival. This year will see its  21st staging and as attendees of the launch would come to see, this milestone would be celebrated with much grandeur.

The festivities are slated to begin on Sunday, July 21st with a massive pool party at Aquasol Theme Park in Montego Bay. A host of parties will continue throughout the week including an exclusive all white soirée. On Thursday night the main stage will come alive.

Known for delivering the most current and celebrated artistes, this year's lineup is surely no disappointment. Dancehall Night, July 25th features the likes of I-Octane, Beenie Man, Lady Saw, Aidonia and Popcaan to name a few. Every year dancehall artistes out do themselves from costumes to stage props and theatrics. This year executive director of Reggae Sumfest Johnny Gourzong told Jamaicansmusic.com his team gave the artistes personal challenges to ensure that day one will deliver the usual explosive and memorable entertainment package. Digicel Brand ambassador I-Octane is expected to close the show this year. Gourzong expressed that after his performance last year he was deemed ready to be Dancehall night's Grand Finale. After the King of the Dancehall, Beenieman's electrifying closure to last year's show, we surely are excited to see what Octane will bring to the stage.

The following night, International Night 1 will include American rapper Flo Rida, alongside Jamaican greats such as Beres Hammond, Tarrus Riley and Barrington Levy. Gourzong shared that he knew having Levy a part of the line up is something many patrons would be excited about. Levy hasn't appeared on a stage show in Jamaica for almost a decade. Similar to the craze that followed with Shabba Ranks' addition to the line up last year, Levy's return to his homeland stage is something we're all looking forward to!

Last but certainly not least is International Night 2. American R&B crooner Miguel headlines the show along with reggae royalty Damian Marley, and fast risen sensations Chronixx, Romain Virgo and No-Maddz. Also on the show is veteran reggae group Chalice, a perfect balance to the mostly newer generation reggae acts.

Gourzong expressed being very pleased with the lineup this year. In celebration of 21 years they have bill old and new favorites which captures the spirit of the festival over the years. In addition to the performances the promoters have also stepped up the production aspect of the show. According to Gourzong this year they're going above and beyond with the quality of the production so patrons can expect a well rounded entertainment package when they go to Sumfest this year.
