Dancehall artiste Leftside has released his mixtape, The Transporter Vol. 1.

With the summer season officially inducted Leftside thought it would be an opportune time to release a mixtape since people are more likely to make several road trips at this time of year. He dubs the new mix 'music to drive to' which is the basis for his "Transporter" concept.

The 25 tracks compilation begins with a parody of a scene from the movie The Transporter which sets the tone for the rest of mixtape. Leftside, who is known for injecting humour in his music, such as taking on the alter ego Dr. Evil, gives us his usual gimmicks and witty lyrics. It contains strictly new music as the artiste stated, "I wanted to give them something new." He explained that he made a concerted effort to maintain the dancehall element of the mixtape however there are songs highly influenced by Hip-Hop and House music.

Doubling as a producer, Leftside produced several tracks included on the mix-tape under his label KeepLeft Record. Dancehall artiste Konshens, who collaborated on the track Clap Dat, was also a part of the production side of the mixtape with his label SubKonshus Music. There were also international players in the production such as Dj Dyna and Major Laser. JonFx who has produced several of International artiste Pitbull songs , also produced a collaboration with Sean Paul called "Want Your Body" (Remix) featured on The Transporter. Upcoming artistes from KeepLeft Record namely, G-anna and Zia Benjamin were among artistes featured in collaborations. The mix was done by Mr. Sean from Coppershot.

Although Vol 1. hasnt been released for more than a week, Leftside is already working on Vol 2. He expressed his excitement with Jamaicnsmusic.com having exceeded 1400 downloads of the mixtape within the first hour of it's release. He has plans of releasing the video for "Do You Know Who I Am" which is the first song on the mixtape. A video for "Clap Dat" with Konshens and "Want Your Body"(Remix) with Sean Paul is also in the works. A part from the mixtape, he just wrapped up a medley video for the BamDiggyBam Riddim produced by his label.
