With an eye and ear-catching career within the reggae entertainment industry, many have acclaimed Germaine Bernard, internationally known as Hyah Slyce, to be one of Reggae music’s true inheritors. A baton passed on from generations to a young few for its preservation, Hyah Slyce Music can be considered a book of love and life's lessons.

Growing up in the south western parish of St. Elizabeth, Jamaica, through the lessons learned from his loving grandparents, Germaine realized at an early stage he wanted to pursue a career in music. In the year 2000, out of high school, he leaped into building his career becoming a frequent visitor to local studio’s going by many different aliases Slice, Slicer, etc. He was prompted by one of his mentors Mikey General to own the name Hyah Slyce, which he found fitting.

Humbled by the many adversities and the help provided to him, Hyah Slyce, in his own words says, “I just give thanks for the many blessings I have received on my journey to further my dreams and aspirations working with some of Jamaica’s top producers."

Hyah Slyce first burst onto the scene with the release of the single “Poor Again” (Girlfriend Riddim on the Cash Flow Label) in 2007, which created a buzz at the time for the young Hyah Slyce who rejoiced after hearing his song on the radio for the first time. He immediately delivered another local fan favorite with “Sex Sales” (Disturbance Riddim on the Loyal Soldiers Label) and was sought by veterans in the music industry. This led to developing a relationship with Coppershot Production, producers of his single “All & All” (All & All Riddim produced by Coppershot Production) a cultural love song, which was an announcement to the rest of the reggae community that Slyce is an important player who is here to stay. The video, directed by Scorpio 21, received rave reviews and heavy rotation on both local and international mediums throughout 2008. Then there was the release of the smashing hit single "Feel so Fine" produced by Head Concussion records in 2009 and complimented with a soulful video, the single recognized Hyah Slyce as a force to be reckoned with in the music industry. Since then, Hyah Slyce continued to produce exceptional music over the past 3 years such as Love You Up, Just Naah Go Work, Enemies, Highest to the Skyest, Love is an Action Word (Golden Gate Riddim), People Cry (Canal Drive Riddim) and many more.

Throughout Hyah Slyce’s career he has performed locally and internationally creating an extensive fan base for himself performing at shows such as Sting, Camp Fire, Rebel Salute, St. Mary Mi Come From, Irie Jamboree, to name a few. Touring extensively throughout the Caribbean, Central America and Canada naming performances in Belize, Suriname, St. Martin, New York, Boston as his most memorable performances. An important milestone in his career was performing as an opening act for Internationally Acclaimed Dancehall/Reggae Artist Sean Paul in Ivory Coast for his African tour. With hopes of continuing to build his fan base by delivering inspirational and powerful music worldwide, Hyah Slyce is on a mission.

More recently Hyah Slyce has been burning up the airwaves with new songs released in 2011, Woman Alone Wi Pree (Bus Stop Riddim), She Want It (White Liver Riddim), Real Love (Lost and Found Riddim), Cant Dis Wi A Road ft. I-Octane (Centre Stage Riddim), Out My Head (Rio Riddim), showing his versatility on various Dancehall/Reggae riddims but still providing his ever smooth melodic harmonies, love, spirituality, and socio-political views to musical notes.

Hyah Slyce is now an independent artist, having ended his contractual agreement with Coppershot. His catalogue and fan base continues to grow. Now the artist has aligned himself with a team of young Corporate and Independent managers, movers and shakers of today’s industry to provide management and representation while he focuses on creating more inspirational Reggae Music spreading love and joy to the masses through his music.
