Nicole Bloise, better know as Drama Queen was born in St. Andrews, Jamaica in June 1988 and raised in the Bronx, NY. She is a song writer/rapper aspiring to create a household name for herself. Drama Queen’s name was given to her by a close friend because of her exaggerated personality and self proclaimed tendency to be “dramatic”. The music stylings of Drama Queen has been described as upbeat and fun with a club/party feel to it. Her music has been said to be relatable and very sexual. She likes to rap about topics that she believes most people wouldn’t be brave enough to discuss which is reflective of her level of comfortability with her music.

Drama Queen gained an early appreciation for music in her early childhood growing up in Jamaica listening to reggae music with her father. A newfound love of music and more diverse appreciation came along when she moved to the United States and was exposed to music of different genres. Music was something that just fell into Drama Queen’s lap. As she got older she began to write songs for friends and even formed her first group in middle school. In 2006 she went on to become a member of a rap group called C.G.G. (Conceited Girls Gettin’ It) where she really began to envision herself as an artist.

After being a member of a few singing groups, Drama Queen decided to try her luck at a solo career. From high school performances to music videos with her early music she has never given up her passion to make music for everyone to relate to and love. Being respected by not only female M.C.’s, but male rappers as well, she decided it was time to get serious about her work. She started saving her money in order to pay for studio time, and vigorously worked on her flow and dance skills. Her hard work has earned her an opportunity to have her music played at local clubs as well as numerous requests to appear on local artist’s projects as well as popular D.J.‘s mixtapes.

Her musical inspirations and influences include artists such as Jay-Z, Kanye West, Brittany Spears, Pharrell Williams, Ludacris, Missy Elliot, and Lil Kim. Of those influences her top favorites are Kanye West, Ludacris and Jay-Z. She admires the way Kanye West started off as an underdog, and how Ludacris uses lyrical comedy. Jay-Z is at the top of the list because she has been following his career and listening to his music growing up, and sees what can happen with talent, a vision, and a hard work ethic.

Drama Queen is a motivated and driven young artist that is working her way to the top. She has been working nonstop to develop her music, create new contacts and work her way into the music industry. Not only is she talented but she is also persistent. Last year a car accident injured her and left her unable to perform for months. However, instead of giving up and feeling defeated she decided to focus hard on the creation process and finding herself in her music. That was when she created “Dem Nuh Like Me” and “Sexual Frustration.” These two songs reflect the versatility in her music and show off a fun yet sexy side to her.
